A page dedicated to Memorable Movie Quotes

This page is dedicated to memorable quotes* … mainly quotes from movies … dialogues which have been made famous by movie fans, or maybe just 2 lines that I liked in a movie 🙂

And maybe, once in a while, some other “non-filmy” quotes also … something good I read somewhere, or something that I remember from being written on my school’s notice-board as “Thought For the Day” ( though it is highly unlikely I would remember any of those )

* Note : More quotes  will keep getting added at the top of this collection

>> From the movie “Rangeela” …
Pakya (asking Munna, who is selling tickets in black outside the movie theatre) :   Kya Munna, dhanda kaisa chal raha hai ?
Munna (played by Aamir Khan) :  Ekdum Jhakaas ! Bole to, Paidal Aane ka aur Taxi mein Jaane ka !

>> From the movie “Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron” …
(During the climax scene of the Mahabharat play)  Dhritaashtra:   Now this is too much ! Yeh Akbar kahan se aa gaya !!

(Another very famous line from the same movie) : “Switzerland ka cake hai … Thoda khao, thoda fekko, bahut mazaa aayega !”

>> From the movie “Catch Me If You Can” …
Christopher Walken (asking Leo Di Caprio, who plays his teenaged son) :   Do you know why the Yankees always win ?
Leo :  Because they have Mickey Mantle?
Walken : No, its  because the other teams can’t stop staring at those damn pinstripes

>> From the movie “Mr. India” …
Seema (Sridevi) :   Sir, mujhe akhbaar ke liye Mr.India ka interview lena hai.
Gaitonde (Seema’s boss – played by Annu Kapoor ) :   Kaun hai yeh Mr. India. Body-builder hai ?
Seema :   Nahi Sir. Woh dikhai nahi dete.
Gaitonde :   Haan, Yeh Malhotra bhi aaj kal dikhai nahi deta. Use uski naukri pyari nahi hai shaayad.

>> From the movie “Majboor” …

Amitabh Bachchan (explaining his knowledge about fishes to the aquarium-shop owner) :
Mujhe Inn Machliyon ke Baare mein Utna hi maloom hai,  jitna Unhe Mere Baare mein maloom hai !

>> From the movie “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” …
Eli Wallach (as Tuco – after he kills a guy) : When you have to shoot, shoot, don’t talk

 >> From the movie “Kaalia” …
Kaalia (during lunch time in the jail) :   Hum jahan khade hote hain, line wahin se shuru hoti hai !
